It’s been awhile since I’ve posted! I’m just lazy mainly. I’ve written out quite a few recipes and even photographed them, I just haven’t bothered to update. That and I have been working on my Masters.
Sam and I are moving more and more into a vegan diet. We watched the documentary Forks over Knifes, and it really opened our eyes to many health complications such as diabetes (type two) and heart disease that the standard diet can be attributed to. I really recommend watching it. Since eliminating all animal products, we both feel a heap better. We didn’t even really realise we weren’t feeling that great. For myself, I know that I’ve lost a lot of bloating, I’ve maintained my weight (even though I haven’t been exercising), my sinuses have been clear (I’ve eliminated the need for the preventative nose spray I was using), my blood sugar levels have been more stable and my digestive system feels better than ever.
Another thing we are trying at the moment is drinking clay. That website lists many benefits of drinking clay. But in laymans terms, drinking clay will get rid of toxins in the body, cleanse the insides, improve digestion and detox the liver among other things. My digestive system feels better than ever. It literally tastes like you are drinking dirt, which you are, but in a bit of juice you can’t taste it.
Yesterday, I was off work as I had somehow managed to take chunk of skin from my eyeball…not sure how I managed that. But with the time off (and being unable to watch tv or use the computer) I spent some time cooking. I made my first batch of Potato Gnocchi with pasta sauce. It was actually quite easy, and the pasta sauce was to die for! I also made a Spicy Noodle Salad for lunchs (it was delicious) and lastly I made these Vegan Cornbread Muffins.
See my Vegan Cornbread Muffins.
They are super easy, and great for snacks at work!
